Taste Your Place

I haven't been to a two-week party since I was...oh...twenty-five or so, but I'll be making this one hosted by the Athens non-profit PLACE (Promoting Local Agriculture & Cultural Experience). The two-week extravaganza starts this Saturday, July 11th at the Athens Farmers Market and runs through July 25th. Activities include a pie contest (created with local ingredients, of course), a book group that will discuss Barbara Kingsolver's Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, a silent auction, a cooking class with the Four Coursemen and more.

A stew of Athens restaurants will be participating by showcasing locally grown menu items throughout the extravaganza, so stop by for a bite and let them know you appreciate what they're doing. Who knows, if they see that we care about this maybe they'll make it a regular practice.

You can click here for a list of the participating restaurants and activities.

See you there.
